After much delay, the Punjab Public Service Commission (PPSC) is expected to declare the results of the Punjab Combined Civil Services Examination (PCS Mains) in a day or two.
The PPSC will shortlist nearly 550 aspirants to further select the final 180 candidates.
The government in 2009 had asked the PPSC to fill posts in various departments, including the Punjab Civil Services, District Food Controller, police, and excise and taxation.
"We are cross-verifying the data entries and results will be announced very soon. We are going to shortlist at least three-fold the number of aspirants for the 180 seats," said examination secretary APS Virk.
"Due to tough competition, there is always a chance that two candidates will get same marks; thus we are expecting that 550 candidates would qualify for the final interview, which would be fixed very soon in the meeting of the commission." He said the PPSC would put the results on their website in a day or two.
The PPSC is conducting the PCS exams after a gap of nearly 12 years.
