Days after the alleged fake encounter killing of two brothers at Jamalpur near here, posters have appeared in the region underlining the criminal past of the two men, Harinder Singh and Jatinder Singh.
Though the posters do not mention any names of the publisher or the printing press, it must be noted that ruling Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) leader Gurjit Singh is a prime accused in the case. The posters contain some Facebook posts and photos of the slain brothers.
They underline that the brothers had formed a “gang” called “Gunda Staff ”, and also contain some purported conversations with their friends in which they prudly call themselves “gunda” or goons.
Most of the content on the posters is about Facebook posts that the two brothers had put up after allegedly thrashing Harmanpinder Singh of Takhran Khokhran village, whom Gurjit Singh used to call his nephew.
The photos also show them flashing weapons. These are also being circulated on Whatsapp and social networking sites. Police refused to comment on the matter.
It is pertinent to mention that Harinder and Jatinder were facing trial in at least three criminal cases, including attempt to murder and molestation, registered at police stations in Machhiwara and Samrala.
