The two wheeler major brands such as Honda motors, TVS and Bajaj are running out of stocks with hundreds of prospective buyers thronging showrooms only to be disheartened by the notices outside showrooms displaying ‘BS-111 out of stock’.
General manager of Honda motors on Ferozepur Road, Rajendra Sharma said, “We have sold 51 two-wheelers in 24 hours and now we are out of stocks, customers in huge numbers are still visiting to buy two-wheelers.”
“The most expensive bike that we had in showroom was CB Shine which was sold at Rs 40000 while its original price is between 60,000 to 65,000. We have also brought down prices of CD deluxe, Navi, Activa among others up to 40 percent to clear the BS-111 compliant vehicles before March, 31,” added Sharma.
General manager of TVS motors, near Ansal Plaza on Malhar Road, Shaman said, “We have sold around 60 bikes (motorcycles) in last one and a half day. The most expensive model that we had was Apache 200 which was sold at 80 thousand while its original price is 1.6 lakhs. We slashed rates of all BS-111 compliant vehicles up to 30 percent.”
