NFL legend Tom Brady turns from touchdown to hoops lands ownership stake in WNBA champions Las Vegas Aces
NFL great Tom Brady has acquired an ownership stake in the reigning WNBA champion Las Vegas Aces, team owner Mark Davis announced on Thursday
NFL legend Tom Brady has announced he has acquired an ownership stake in the Las Vegas Aces, the reigning champions of the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA). In a statement, team owner Mark Davis said he was thrilled to have Brady on board and that the partnership would provide a boost on and off the court. Financial details were not released, and the deal is still subject to WNBA approval.
Brady, who holds the record for winning seven Super Bowl titles during his illustrious 23-year career, said he was excited to be a part of the Las Vegas Aces organization. The quarterback said his love for women's sports began when he would attend his older sisters' games as a child.
"We celebrated their accomplishments together as a family, and they remain a great inspiration to me," Brady said. He added that he hoped to contribute to the organization as it grows the sport and empowers future generations of female athletes.
The Las Vegas Aces were purchased by Davis prior to the 2021 season and won the franchise's first WNBA title last year. The team will begin their title defense on May 19, and Brady's involvement is expected to bring added attention to the league and women's professional sports as a whole.
