HC seeks U.P. reply on provisions for stray animals’ protection

This order was passed by a division bench comprising chief justice Arun Bhansali and justice AR Masoodi on a public interest litigation (PIL) petition filed by a local lawyer Archana Singh Tomer in person in 2006. The petitioner had raised the issue of protection of stray animals in the PIL.

HC seeks U.P. reply on plea for age relaxation in recruitment exam

Hearing a writ petition filed by one Prem Dhan and others, justice Prakash Padia directed to list this case after exchange of affidavits between the petitioner and the respondents.

No need of prior sanction for registration of FIR against a public servant: HC

The court noted that even if obtaining sanction was required for commencing legal proceedings, it should be obtained when presenting the chargesheet before the magistrate and when the magistrate took cognizance of the matter.

The applicant had sought anticipatory bail concerning an FIR involving the alleged offences under section 420 (cheating) and other related sections of Indian Penal Code and under section 12 of Passport Act. (Pic for representation)
