The meeting, conducted under the aegis of the health department, under the National Vector Borne Disease Control Programme, was attended by roughly 40 people, some of whom returned with the opinion that the meeting was a moot exercise.
At Lok Bandhu Raj Narayan Hospital here, the administration has had to add beds to dengue wards to make space for the number of patients that they are getting. “We have extended the dengue ward by adding 10 more beds, given that our 12-bed ward was proving inadequate for the patients’ volume,” said Lok Bandhu Hospital director Dr. Suresh Kaushal.
Lucknow reports a fourth Chikungunya case, along with 54 active dengue and 3 malaria cases. Year-to-date totals: 907 dengue, 436 malaria, 67 chikungunya.
