Delhi Police arrested a 32-year-old terrorist, Shahnawaz Alam, who was on the National Investigation Agency's most wanted list for his alleged involvement in an Islamic State module in Pune. Two of his associates were also arrested. The group was planning to carry out terror attacks in northern India on the instructions of foreign-based IS handlers. The police recovered weapons, explosives, and literature for making bombs from Shahnawaz. The three suspects were highly radicalized and had conducted recce in western and southern India. They were produced before the court and obtained seven-day police custody.

An engineer by profession, Shahnawaz alias Shafi Uzzama was arrested by the Delhi Police's special cell and is currently being interrogated, officials said.
