Dulquer Salmaan was born in Cochin, Kerala. He is the son of veteran Malayalam actor Mammootty. He did his bachelors from Purdue University and worked as a business manager in Dubai before pursuing a career in acting. He made his debut with Second Show in 2012 and won Filmfare Award for Best Male Debut for it. He has starred in commercially successful films like Ustad Hotel, Njaan, Charlie, Bangalore Days and many more. For Charlie, he won Kerala State Film Award for Best Actor. He is married to Amal Sufiya. He is the founder of the film production company, Wayfarer Films.
