Maharashtra assembly election 2019: Rahul Gandhi to start his campaign in Latur, Mumbai

Varsha Gaikwad is the daughter of the Congress’ Mumbai unit chief Eknath Gaikwad and seeking re-election from the assembly constituency for the fourth time.

Maharashtra polls: Congress screening committee to discuss Mumbai candidates today

After finalising its seat-sharing with Nationalist Congress Party by conceding to give the latter seven seats, the Congress has decided to fight the remaining 29 seats in Mumbai.

Eknath Gaikwad is now acting president of Mumbai Congress unit

Deora resigned as the president of the Mumbai Regional Congress Committee (MRCC) in July, after the party lost all five seats it contested in Mumbai in the Lok Sabha elections. Gaikwad was then appointed the working president for the Mumbai Congress.
