CEC: Disabled, those above 80 yrs can vote from home in Telangana

Telangana will introduce a facility for senior citizens aged 80 and above to vote from home in assembly polls, the first state in India to do so. The facility will also be extended to people with disabilities. Over 31 million voters, including 15 million women, have registered for the upcoming elections. Sangrur: Three held for duping eCommerce companies of 19L

Police busted an eCommerce fraud gang in India, arresting three people who allegedly created fake IDs to order mobile phones and claim refunds for defects. The trio took around INR19.68 lakh ($26,600) from companies including Flipkart, police said. A fourth suspect is still on the run. The accused sold the mobiles in the market after receiving refunds.

The accused have been identified as Ishu Garn, Ram Chandra alias Mangla and Rajesh Saini, residents of Khanauri, while the fourth accused Ravinder Kumar is still absconding.

Security remains lax in Ludhiana civil hospital

The health facility has only 12 security guards, working across three shifts, to watch the three multi-storey hospital buildings; one of the security guards is posted outside the emergency ward, second outside the mother and child wing and the third guard is posted at the main hospital building, that houses offices of the senior medical officer

Apart from the security, visitors, including children from the lady wing next door, were spotted entering covid isolation ward at civil hospital without face masks. (Manish/HT)
