Committee submits 15 measures to prevent mishaps like Goregaon SRA building fire
A committee in Mumbai has submitted a report with 15 measures to prevent future fires in SRA buildings, including the installation of fire escapes and conducting fire audits. The committee also recommended wider staircases, steel-enclosed doors for lifts, and proper parking management. Buildings with conditional NOCs will be checked for compliance.

Forest department records reduction in forest fires
The number of forest fire incidents fell to 42 this summer season in which 90.44 ha of land was affected. By contrast, as many as 112 forest fire incidents were reported in 2020-21 whereas 75 forest fire incidents were reported in 2021-22

Fire incident at SPPU, no injuries reported
The fire is said to have started in a wooden staircase structure on the seventh floor and spread to flag hoisting place and no injuries were reported during the incident
