Punjab exports first shipment of Pathankot’s litchi to England

According to horticulture minister Chetan Singh Jouramajra, efforts will be made to export other horticultural crops as well in collaboration with the horticulture department and the Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority.

3% dip in polling across 3 LS seats in Majha

Total turnout in the Majha region was 60% till the filing of this report. In 2019, the turnout was 63.26%. Amid searing temperatures, the voter turnout in Amritsar again remained the lowest in Punjab and the polling numbers in rural areas once again remained more than the urban areas.

Big guns among 82 LS candidates file 95 nominations in Punjab on Day 4

95 nominations filed by 82 candidates for 13 Lok Sabha seats in Punjab. Notable candidates include Taranjit Singh Sandhu, Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa, and Amritpal Singh.

Radical Sikh preacher Amritpal Singh, who is detained under NSA and presently lodged in Dibrugarh jail in Assam, filed his papers from Khadoor Sahib as an Independent. His papers were submitted by his uncle Sukhchain Singh.
