PMC opens Late Vitthalrao Tupe auditorium at Hadapsar

Pune's PMC opened the Vitthalrao Tupe auditorium in Hadapsar, featuring 838 seats, parking for 107 cars, and modern facilities.

The construction covers 5,767 square metre and the facility has seating capacity for 838 people, parking for 107 cars and 357 two-wheelers. (Hindustan Times)

Jewellery worth 4.9 lakh stolen from elderly couple

Two thieves stole ₹4.95 lakh worth of jewellery from a senior couple in Hadapsar. The theft happened near a bus stop as the couple returned from the bank.

Pune Police lodge four FIRs under BNS law 

The Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS) and the Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam (BSA) replaced the British-era Indian Penal Code, Code of Criminal Procedure and the Indian Evidence Act

PMC warns private hospital over delay in reporting Zika case 

The private lab reports detected Zika virus and dengue virus in woman’s blood serum on June 1. However, the hospital informed PMC about the case on June 22

After the hospital informed the PMC about the Zika virus case the civic body started surveillance in the Mundhwa area. PMC sent samples of 13 people including the 47-year-old woman and her three family members and people living in the vicinity to the National Institute of Virology (NIV) for testing of Zika infection.
