IPS officer Umranangal gets posting after reinstatement

Sikh body in MP files PIL to ban ‘Emergency’, high court to hear case on Monday

The Sikh body has filed a public interest litigation (PIL) in the high court claiming that the movie is detrimental to the interest of society, the petitioner’s counsel, senior advocate NS Ruprah, said.

In a recent development, the release of the film has been postponed as it is yet to get clearance from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). The movie was earlier scheduled to be released on September 6. (HT File)

MBBS, BDS admissions: After HC stay, BFUHS puts result of NRI seats on hold

The BFUHS in a notice on Thursday said, “In the light of interim orders of the Punjab and Haryana high court vide which corrigendum dated August 20 and addendum dated August 22 has been stayed, the provisional result of candidates with allotment of seats and colleges under NRI category NEET UG-2024 had been prepared but kept on hold for the time being”

PSIEC scam: HC asks vigilance bureau to complete probe expeditiously

The high court bench of chief justice Sheel Nagu and justice Anil Kshetarpal was dealing with a 2020 public interest litigation (PIL) seeking probe; and four petitions filed by officials of PSIEC — Savtej Singh Sandhu, Surinderpal Singh, Jaswinder Singh Randhawa and Amarjeet Singh — who had challenged sanction granted by the managing director of the PSIEC for the probe in February 2024

The Punjab and Haryana high court has asked the vigilance bureau (VB) to complete probe into the alleged plot allotment scam in Punjab State Industries and Export Corporation (PSIEC), a body that the government owns, expeditiously.
