On Holi, 2,456 booked for traffic violations

According to data shared by the traffic police, while 2,169 prosecutions were related to Holi, 287 challans were issued for traffic violations during the celebration of Shab-e-Baraat.

The Delhi Traffic Police had made elaborate arrangements to check incidents of drink driving and overspeeding, among others, and ensure safety of motorists, said officials.(Parveen Kumar/Hindustan Times)

Over 2,450 people fined for traffic violations on Holi, Shab-e-Barat

The data stated that 196 challans were for drunk driving. In a fatal accident, a 13-year-old boy and his mother died and three others were injured after a speeding car hit an auto-rickshaw on the Barapullah flyover.
