Delay mars medicine supply to patients, staff at KGMU
In a letter to V-C, KGMU teachers’ association complained of delays in obtaining medicines under the ‘local purchase’ system, under which the hospital buys medicines not available in its pharmacies for patients and staff.

“We are working on transplant of lung for patients in need. Not all patients of lung disease require transplantation, but a few need it at the end stage of the disease,” said Dr Ved Prakash, HoD, pulmonary critical care medicine at KGMU.

KGMU docs perform 2 liver transplants in 24 hours
Doctors at King George's Medical University in Lucknow, India, have performed two liver transplants within 24 hours, one from a living donor and the other from a brain-dead patient. This is the first time such transplants have been done in the state of Uttar Pradesh in such a short period. So far, a total of 30 liver transplants have been performed at the hospital.

Lucknow KGMU’s organ donation programme from brain dead patients on a hiatus
KGMU initiated organ donation from brain dead patients in 2017, and to date, approximately two dozen successful cases have been completed.
