Union finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Tuesday said the Atal Pension Yojana (APY) – the old age income security scheme for unorganised workers -- has given 9.1% returns since its inception in 2015, benefiting 64 million beneficiaries.
Congress leader Jairam Ramesh called Atal Pension Yojana a poorly-designed scheme that “needs officials to hoodwink and coerce people into participating in it”.
Nirmala Sitharaman also said that the state's share of the GST mop-up of ₹1.06 crore for Karnataka for the period between 2017 to 22 was released in full.
