Madras HC upholds nomination of three BJP members in Puducherry Assembly

Justices Anita Sumanth and Senthilkumar Ramamoorthy upheld the May 2021 notifications of the Union Ministry of Home Affairs and the Puducherry Chief Secretary nominating K Venkatesan, V P Ramalingam and R B Ashok as members of the territorial assembly.

Rangasamy to be sworn in as Puducherry CM on May 7

The AINRC bagged 10 seats out of the 16 it contested in the April 6 polls while the BJP garnered six out of the nine seats it contested.

Official sources said Rangasamy alone would be inducted as Chief Minister tomorrow although he would be heading an NDA dispensation which has the BJP as the other constituent.(PTI Photo/File)
