Pune civic body achieves 100% TB target for 2024 

According to the official data shared by the PMC, the civic body achieved 70% of its target in 2021, 84% in 2022, and 92% in 2023. In 2024, the PMC met 100% of its notification target and identified 7,777 new cases of tuberculosis (TB)

TB elimination campaign: Most Punjab districts faltering on screening vulnerable population

Barring Kapurthala, all other districts have been faltering on the first step itself — screening of vulnerable populations for TB. Documents accessed by HT have revealed that out of the total 18 districts, 10, including Patiala, the home district of Punjab health minister Dr Balbir Singh, have a screening percentage of less than 20%.

Data showed that there are 32.65 lakh vulnerable persons in 18 districts of Punjab, but only 5.75 lakh have been screened for TB as of January 6. (HT Photo)

U.P. govt screens 27 lakh citizens in mission to end TB by 2025

The campaign, slated to run until March 24, 2025, focuses on early detection, effective treatment, and rehabilitation of TB patients.

PMC to screen over 8 lakh vulnerable population for TB under SSHAKTI programme

PMC has launched the SSHAKTI programme to combat TB, screening over 50k vulnerable individuals and aiming to improve detection and treatment in high-risk areas.
