Lumpy skin disease: Vaccination drive intensified; only 158 bovines infected in Prayagraj

Efforts are underway in Prayagraj to protect cattle from lumpy skin disease through vaccination and awareness campaigns. The disease has affected 160 villages, but cases have reduced significantly. So far, 4.72 lakh vaccine doses have been administered to 1.76 lakh bovines in the district. Only 158 bovines are currently infected, with six deaths recorded. Vaccination teams are actively working to prevent further spread, and inter-district transport of cattle has been banned.

U-Win portal to track vaccinations may be rolled out in early October

India's U-WIN portal, similar to the Covid-19 vaccine management system Co-WIN, is set to be launched in October. It will document all vaccination and immunisation programmes in the country, including registration, follow-ups, and vaccination certificates. The platform will also be used to register and vaccinate pregnant women and record vaccination details of children.

U-WIN, designed on the lines on the Covid-19 vaccine management system Co-WIN, will be a one stop platform for India’s Universal Immunisation Programme (UIP) and all the information related to registration, vaccination follow-ups, vaccination certificates will be available on the portal, officials said, adding that the platform will be used to register and vaccinate pregnant women, and register births and record vaccination details of children.
