Gossip girl actor Ed Westwick wants to play the younger version of the elusive spy, James Bond
His fan base consists of teenagers and young women, and English actor Ed Westwick, who has drawn praises for his portrayal of the character Chuck Bass in US TV series Gossip Girl; season five, which currently airs on Zee Cafe here, is now vying to play the younger version of James Bond. The 25-year-old chats about his aspirations as an actor and his back-up plan, if he failed in showbiz.
How do you tackle playing the bad guy in Gossip Girl?
He’s a great character. So it’s been pretty fantastic.
What would you have done if you weren’t an actor?
I always used to joke of being a landscape gardener because I love gardens, but I don’t think I’d do that. I think I’d give
the rock and roll thing a go.
What is your dream role?
I was watching Iron Man, the first one and I’d love to play a super villain, with some weird cracked eye or that sort of thing.
Any other aspirations?
I should play Bond I think...a 25-year-old Bond, that’d be great. I think it’s taken at the moment, but give it a year or two.
