On Valentine’s Day, TV’s perfect couples share their Jab They Met love stories
In the run-up to Valentine’s Day, TV couples go down the memory lane and share how they met the love of their life and what got them hooked…
Love is in the air and our small screen couples are all soaked in love recalling their romantic stories of their first meeting, first date and what got them attracted to each other. While some met on the sets of their TV shows while working, others had destiny playing the cupid. And not to forget, some who had arranged meetings ended up being happily married ever after. Take a look...
Dipika Kakar and Shoaib Ibrahim
They met on the sets of TV show Sasural Simar Ka where they were just co-actors then. “I was too busy with my work and he with his. It was only after when he quit the show that I realised my affection for him and vice-versa. Our first meeting was extremely formal like when new people meet. But soon we became friends and there was nothing more till much later. We never thought it would be a lifetime of togetherness soon,” shares Dipika.
Karan Patel and Ankita Patel
They first met at a Lohri party organised by Ankita’s father at their place. “It was a brief meeting and we did not realise we would be spending a lifetime together. But I guess my brother Aly Goni knew it all. We met, smiled, spoke a few words and that was about it, till our families decided that we were perfect for each other and got us to meet again at a hotel in Juhu where we decided we shall spend our lives together,” recounts Karan.
Hunar Hale and Mayank Gandhi
Recently married, they met through their families in Delhi. “I was running late and Mayank joked about it saying I was late and he did not like latecomers. We laughed it off as a joke. Basically, we had met to see how we got along, as the intention of families was always marriage, but we wanted to first meet to see how things worked out for us. Glad it got us into marriage,” quips Hunar.
Shama Sikander and James Milliron
They met through a common friend in Mumbai when James was here on a work trip. “We met and connected from the very first moment. It was like some kind of past life connection. We haven’t been apart since the time we met actually. We met after that almost every day and we spent really quality time, we talked a lot. We connected on a totally different level. And then he proposed to me and I just loved his courage and simplicity and his non complicated mind. He was in love with me and wanted to marry me. It was that simple. I just couldn’t stop falling for him. I do feel great connection with him. I didn’t see any reason to stay away from him. We are a very communicative couple. We have great things in common but also we understand and respect each other’s differences too. We boost each other in every way possible and love each other and surrender to our love rather than having any ego,” says Shama.
Himmanshoo Malhotra and Amruta Khanvilkar
They met in 2004 in a reality show and have been friends ever since. They’ve have known each other for 12 years now and been married for two years. “Our first meeting was actually in a film filled with young actors and that is where he first saw and noticed me and he was so impressed with my acting and dancing. He was with a book in his hand and he wanted to know everything about me. I felt that someone was interviewing me for the first time. That’s how we became friends. I come from a middle class Maharastrian family, so talking to boys was like a big no. I always use to tell him that if you want to talk, keep a distance and don’t sit beside me in the bus because my mom might watch. We never thought that we would fall in love but he was in awe of me and I can say that after 12 years of our friendship and marriage,” shares Amruta.
Aakanksha Singh and Kunal Sain
They were destined to meet and the rest is history. “I first met Kunal at an event organised by him in 2006 where my sister was invited as an anchor. I tagged along and got to meet him and it was there we became friends and then lovers. It took a while but I feel I have known him for the longest time,” shares Aakanksha.
Rubina Dilaik and Abhinav Shukla
They met during Ganpati celebration at a common friend’s house and felt an instant spark at that very moment. “We had met many a times during events or parties but we never noticed each other. He’s a self-made man and through his behaviour, aura and personality, he has a lot of radiance that shine so brightly that you are drawn towards him. And we both are travellers at heart, which makes this journey really beautiful and interesting.
