Australia Snubs U.S.; Won't Deploy Warship To Red Sea But Sends 11 Military Crew To Fight Houthis

Australia has rejected a request made by the U.S. as it formed a multinational naval task force to counter the Houthi threat in the Red Sea. Australia has refused to deploy a plane or a warship to the Red Sea but will send six more military personnel to guard cargo ships in the vital shipping route in January next year. The Australian Defence Minister and Deputy PM, Richard Marles, told Sky News television that the NATO ally's focus remained on the Pacific region instead of the Red Sea at the moment.
