Punjab polls 2022: Voting underway; Conjoined twins Sohna, Mohna cast 2 votes

After weeks of high-voltage campaigning, Punjab polls got underway to a peaceful start at 8 am on Sunday. Around 2.14 crore voters are set to decide the fate of 1,304 candidates in the fray from 117 constituencies. Punjab is seeing a multi-cornered contest with Cong, AAP, SAD-BSP alliance, coalition of BJP-Lok Congress. PM Narendra Modi urged voters to vote and do their duty as a responsible citizen. Voters were seen standing in long queues early in the morning at various voting centers. Conjoined twins Sohna and Mohna cast their first votes on Sunday at Manawal in Amritsar as 2 separate voters. To maintain the secrecy of the votes from each other they were given goggles, an official said. Watch the full video for more.
