American economist Lawrence H Summers criticised China's strategy for controlling the Covid-19 pandemic. He said that the Chinese government shouldn't impose a lockdown over a handful of cases in a city. He said that weak Chinese vaccines and reluctance to import foreign jabs is contributing to the problem of low immunity in the country. Summers, Director, White House National Economic Council (2009 - 2010), and Secretary of US Treasury (1999 - 2001), was part of Day 2 of the 19th edition of the Hindustan Times Leadership Summit.
