IAF officer hoists Tricolour, sings National Anthem on Mount Everest | Watch

To mark 75 years of India's independence and to celebrate 'Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav', Wing Commander Vikrant Uniyal has done the unthinkable. The Indian Air Force officer scaled Mount Everest, hoisted the national flag at the tallest point on earth and sang the national anthem. The IAF officer dedicated his May 21 feat as a tribute to all the unsung heroes and movements which contributed to India's freedom struggle. "The arduous expedition started from Kathmandu, Nepal on April 15 with team members from across the globe. Wg Cdr Vikrant Uniyal is a qualified mountaineer who trained from Nehru Institute of Mountaineering, Uttarkashi, Army Mountaineering Institute, Siachen, and National Institute of Mountaineering and Allied Sports, Arunachal Pradesh," said Group Capt Samir Gangkhedkar, public relations officer (defence), Prayagraj.
