Nature’s fury in Assam: 14 dead, 8 lakh affected | How floods are wreaking havoc

Assam continued to remain inundated as floods and landslides have wreaked havoc. Nearly 8 lakh people in 29 districts have been affected while 14 have been declared dead as nature's fury has ravaged the state. Situation in four districts- Nagaon, Hojai, Cachar and Darrang - still remains grave. According to the state disaster management authority, over 3.36 lakh people have been affected in the Nagaon district followed by 1.66 lakh in the Cachar district, 1.11 lakh in Hojai, and 52,709 in the Darrang district. Four persons, including two children, died on Friday after drowning in floodwaters in Cachar, Lakhimpur and Nagaon districts.
