BJP has fielded a woman candidate, Madhavi Latha, from Hyderabad Lok Sabha seat which has been a stronghold of AIMIM for the last 40 years, and is currently being held by the party chief Asaduddin Owaisi. Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav coined a new slogan to defeat the ruling BJP. In Bihar, he said, “120 harao, BJP hatao”. TMC took a jibe at BJP after its leader Pawan Singh said he won’t contest the Lok Sabha polls from Asansol seat amid backlash over his “vulgar” discography which contains songs with objectionable references to Bengali women.
