The decades old border dispute between Assam and Meghalaya could be nearing a resolution after the state cabinets approved a ‘give-and-take’ formula to sort out the dispute. In the first phase, 6 of the 12 disputed areas are expected to be resolved as the two states have agreed to divide the 36.8 sq km of disputed land at 6 places almost equally.
