India salutes the unrivalled valour and glory of bravehearts on the occasion of the 75th Army Day. This year's parade is the first of its kind, having taken place outside the national capital of Delhi since the celebrations began in 1949. The parade took place in Bengaluru at the Madras Engineer Group (MEG) headquarters and centre. In a break with tradition, the Indian Army has decided to hold the celebrations across the country. The parade would take place at various field commands across India in order to foster a stronger connection with the local community. Before 2023, the Army Day parade used to take place at the Cariappa Parade Ground in the Delhi Cantonment. Watch this report to also learn why Army Day is celebrated on January 15 every year.
