SC panel on farm laws makes report public; ‘Repeal against silent majority’

The Supreme Court appointed panel to look into the now repealed three farm laws has made their report public. Nearly a year after the protests ended, Anil Ghanwat, one of the members of the panel, released the report in a press conference in the national capital. The report found that 85% of farmer groups, a majority, had supported the farm laws and it noted that a month before the laws were repealed the panel had urged the centre to not withdraw them as the move could hurt the silent majority.
