‘Single-Party Rule In India?’: Congress Claims Its Bank Accounts Frozen Day After Big SC Order

Congress on February 16 claimed that the bank accounts of the party and its youth wing have been frozen. Party’s treasurer Ajay Maken said the freezing of the bank accounts was done on account of a 45-day delay in filing IT returns for the year 2018-19. “It is not a freezing of Congress’ account but democracy has been frozen. When the announcement for elections are just a month away, they have frozen the account of the principal Opposition party,” the senior Congress leader said.
