Lovlina Borgohain: Boxing champ to top Assam cop; CM hopes to see her as IPS

Olympic bronze medalist Lovlina Borgohain has been appointed as a Deputy Superintendent in Assam Police. CM Himanta Biswa Sarma presented the boxing champ with her appointment letter at a ceremony in Guwahati. “This day will remain very memorable for me as I have joined Assam Police. I would like to thank the state government for this honour,” said Lovlina. The Assam CM assured her a monthly sum of ₹100,000 (apart from her salary) to help in her training. “We are very happy to appoint Borgohain in Assam Police,” said Sarma. He added, “She will automatically be eligible for the position of IPS provided she clears her graduation in the next few years.” Watch the full video for more.
