13 people were killed, while nearly 250 people fell sick after a crane loading chlorine tanks onto a ship dropped one of them in Jordan. The incident took place at Jordan’s port of Aqaba and triggered an explosion of toxic yellow smoke in the vicinity. CCTV footage of the incident showed the container being hoisted into the air and then suddenly dropping onto a ship and exploding. Jordan's Prime Minister flew to Aqaba and ordered Interior Minister Mazen Faraya to oversee an investigation into the incident. Aqaba is located on the northern tip of the Red Sea, next to the Israeli city of Eilat, which is just across the border. Eilat’s emergency services said in a statement that there was no impact on the city but that they were following the situation closely. Watch this video for more details.
