While speaking during a debate on two bills regarding Jammu and Kashmir, Union Home Minister Amit Shah accused India's first Prime Minister, Jawaharlal Nehru, of committing two "blunders". Shah said that the blunders were a premature ceasefire, and approaching the United Nations regarding the issue. With the Congress loudly objecting to the statement, Shah said that Nehru himself had admitted the mistake in a letter to Sheikh Abdullah.
