Australia ‘snubs’ U.S; Refuses to join Biden in ‘war against China’ over Taiwan

Amid rising tensions between U.S. and China, Washington-ally Australia has said it has not given the United States any commitment as part of the Aukus deal that it would join its top ally in a potential future war over Taiwan. The Australian Deputy PM said that Canberra had given no such commitment to Washington. Richard Marles made the comments as he continued to defend Australia's multi-decade plan to acquire nuclear powered submarines, with help from the United States and United Kingdom.
