Putin’s fear makes Germany warn West against ‘bidding war’ over fighter jets for Ukraine

After the tank tussle, Russian President Vladimir Putin's fear has pushed the west into a big warplane dilemma. This is because Ukraine has now placed fighter jets on its weapons wish list for the West. However, Germany has openly spurned Ukraine and warned Western powers. German Chancellor Olaf Scholz even urged western nations not to participate in a "bidding war" for advanced weapons in the midst of a conflict. Spurred by the rapid approval of tanks and Patriot air defence systems, which not long ago were off-limits for export to Ukraine, there is renewed optimism in Kyiv for fighter jets. For now, Germany and the U.S. have declined Ukraine's warplane requests. Italy, another NATO member, has also rejected Ukraine's request for fighter jets. Watch this report for more.
