Taliban seek UN seat as shortcut to global legitimacy. Can world afford it?

Barely a month after Taliban took over Afghanistan's capital city Kabul, thus crowning their violent surge to power, the group has written to the United Nations, seeking a seat at the General Assembly. Till now, Afghanistan was being represented at UN fora by Ghulam Isaczai, envoy of the ousted government led by Ashraf Ghani. Taliban's request has erected a political and moral quandary for the UN.
