UK govt comes out in support of BBC after I-T surveys; ‘We Fund Them' | Watch

The UK government has strongly defended the BBC after Income Tax department surveys at its India offices. UK Minister David Rutley said in the parliament that the UK government stands by the BBC and funds the BBC. He said that the UK govt wanted the BBC to have the editorial freedom and noted that the BBC criticises the Conservative Party and the Labour Party. His defence came as the Rishi Sunak government faced flak from the labour party. The income tax surveys at BBC offices in Delhi and Mumbai last week came after the BBC aired controversial documentary series - India: The Modi Question. Watch this video for more details.
