5 key central government-sponsored scholarships for college students
The Government of India offers different types of scholarships and financial assistance to students to help them with their education, research, and so on. The five key central government-sponsored scholarships for college students can be checked here.

1. Central Sector Scheme of Scholarship: Meritorious college and university students who have scored 80th percentile in the relevant stream and have a family income of less than ₹4.5 lakh per annum can apply for this scholarship. The rate of scholarship is Rs. 12,000/- per annum for the first three years and Rs. 20,000/- per annum for the fourth and fifth years.

2. EdCIL Vidyanjali Scholarship: This scholarship is for meritorious students of the Navodaya Vidyalayas who have completed their higher secondary and got admission to a college or higher education institution. It is to help them get scholarships from the CSR funds received by the Vidyanjali Foundation.

3. UGC’s Ishan Uday Special Scholarship Scheme For NER: This scholarship is for students of the North East Region who are pursuing recognized UG degree programmes as specified and notified by UGC from time to time. First-year students of UG degrees can apply for it.

4. AICTE YASHASVI: Candidates who are admitted to the first year of a Degree/ Diploma level course in any of the AICTE-approved institutions of the respective year can apply for this scholarship scheme. Degree-level students will get ₹18000/- per annum and Diploma-level students will get ₹12000/- per annum.

5. AICTE Pragati Scholarship Scheme For Girl Students: Girl students admitted to the first or second year of degree level or diploma level course can apply. The family income should be no more than Rs. 8 lakh annually during the current financial year.
