Every year, the QS ranks ‘Best Student Cities’ based on factors such as affordability, diversity, employment opportunities, student satisfaction, academic excellence.

Here’s a look at the top 5 student cities in the United States.

Boston The home of MIT, Harvard and 6 more internationally ranked universities, Boston ranks number one in the US and 16th globally

San Fransisco  Located within striking distance of two of the world’s most prestigious universities, Stanford University and the University of California, Berkeley, San Francisco is 2nd best student city in the US and 29th globally.

Los Angels  Home to world-renowned University of California, Los Angeles, California Institute of Technology and other top ranked universities, LA achieves particularly strong scores in the student voice and employer activity indicators of the QS ranking.

Chicago Chicago is ranked 4th in the US and 40th globally and has 2 varsities ranked in the top 50 of QS global rankings – University of Chicago (10th), and Northwestern University (32nd)

Philadelphia  Philadelphia, the fifth-best student city in the US, is home to Ivy League member the University of Pennsylvania, the 13th-ranked varsity in QS rankings, Swarthmore College, the esteemed Drexel University, and Temple University.
