5 post-Diwali hair care tips

Residual pollutants in the air after Diwali can affect your hair health and lead to damage.

Here are some hair care tips to rejuvenate your hair after Diwali celebrations.

Wash hair with lukewarm water

To get rid of the harmful air pollutants such as nickel, lead and arsenic from your hair and scalp, opt for a steam bath and wash your hair with a mild shampoo using lukewarm water.

Avoid stepping outside with wet hair

Avoid going outside with wet hair after Diwali celebrations as the pollutants remaining in the air can stick to your hair, block hair follicles and lead to hair damage.

Cover your hair

It is very important to protect your hair from the toxic residue left in the air from bursting firecrackers. Make sure to secure your hair in a bun and cover it with a scarf, a beanie or a hat when you step outside.

Nourish your hair

Apply a protectant serum or a conditioning lotion to your hair to create a protective barrier. This will also help nourish your hair and prevent it from further damage.

Maintain a healthy diet

To rejuvenate and repair damaged hair, it is essential to consume a healthy diet rich in proteins and fibre. Make sure to drink an adequate amount of water to keep your scalp hydrated.
