5 bioluminescent sea creatures that illuminate the ocean

In the deep, dark ocean, bursts of light suddenly appear. Some sea creatures glow, lighting up the underwater world in bright colours.

As we go even deeper, light fades completely, leaving behind an inky, endless darkness beneath the waves.

The firefly squid glows with bright blue light. These tiny creatures light up the ocean in stunning patterns and help them communicate and attract mates.

The chain catshark has a glowing, bioluminescent body. It uses its light to hunt for prey in the deep, dark sea.

Though not as brightly lit as some, the Hawksbill turtle can glow faintly in deep waters.

The Triplefin Blenny is a small fish that uses its glowing features to communicate with other fish, lighting up the sea floor around it.

Jellyfish are some of the most stunning glowing creatures in the ocean.

These creatures show that even in the deepest, darkest parts of the ocean, life thrives with beautiful light, creating a magical underwater world.
